One box, four jobs, less wiring for workshops
As days shorten and worksites keep running well after dark, winter puts real pressure on commercial vehicles, reduced visibility, wet conditions and extended hours in low light all make effective lighting more important, while workshops stay under pressure to build, service and return vehicles as efficiently as possible.
Every commercial vehicle build is a balancing act between safety, functionality, installation time and long-term reliability, and every extra warning light, work lamp, reverse alarm or brake light adds complexity, not just during the build but throughout the vehicle’s life. That’s the problem Narva set out to solve with the AeroTech® Multi-Function Light Box, combining a high-output warning light, rear work light, high-level brake light and dual-tone reverse alarm into one compact assembly.
The warning light meets SAE Class 1, while the integrated rear work light delivers 1,222 lumens, useful illumination for loading, servicing or working around vehicles after dark. A high-level brake light improves visibility when standard rear lamps are obscured by canopies or toolboxes, and the built-in reverse alarm offers a choice of beep or Squawk/Broadband tones, removing the need for a separate alarm.
For workshops and manufacturers building multiple vehicles, the benefit goes beyond safety. “Every component you eliminate is one less part to wire, mount and maintain throughout the vehicle’s life,” said James Pearson, Global Brand Manager at Narva. Fewer components means less time mounting and wiring, and an innovative cradle mounting system allows fast fitment across a broad range of vehicle types, translating to cleaner installations and workshop time saved, particularly valuable during peak service periods.
The AeroTech® box also delivers many of the safety functions typically associated with mine bars, without the size or complexity, useful for service vehicles, council fleets, agricultural machinery, construction vehicles and utilities that need warning lighting and rear illumination without a full width bar. “AeroTech® proves that one well-designed product can replace four separate components without compromising performance,” Pearson said.
Durability is built in throughout, a heavy duty polycarbonate housing and virtually unbreakable lens provide impact resistance, while IP67 and IP69K protection handles dust, water ingress and high-pressure washdowns. A selectable Day/Night Mode automatically reduces warning light output after dark to cut glare, and the light carries SAE Class 1, ECE R65 Class 2 and CA T13 approvals, plus Radio Safe Level 3 certification for use around sensitive communications equipment.
